FOCUSING ON GOD

Focusing on God is an essential part of the Christian faith. Here are some brief biblical notes on this topic:

  1. The First Commandment: The very first commandment in the Bible instructs us to focus on God. Exodus 20:3 says, "You shall have no other gods before me."
  2. Seeking God's Kingdom first: In Matthew 6:33, Jesus teaches us to seek God's kingdom and righteousness above all else, promising that all other things will be added to us as well.
  3. Fixing our eyes on Jesus: Hebrews 12:2 encourages us to fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith.
  4. Setting our minds on things above: Colossians 3:2 tells us to set our minds on things above, not on earthly things.
  5. Trusting in God: Focusing on God involves trusting in Him with all our hearts and not leaning on our own understanding (Proverbs 3:5-6).
  6. Walking in the Spirit: Galatians 5:16 instructs us to walk in the Spirit, rather than gratifying the desires of the flesh.
  7. Loving God with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength: Mark 12:30 commands us to love the Lord our God with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength.

These are just a few biblical notes on focusing on God. Ultimately, the key is to make God the center of our lives, seeking His will and His presence in all that we do. By focusing on God, we can experience His peace, joy, and guidance in our daily lives.
